Plumbers Insurance – Gas Safe Registered Engineers Insurance

Heating engineers that carry out any type of work that involves gas must be registered on the Gas Safe Register in UK. For consumers it is false and even dangerous to use a gas engineer that is not on the register. Not only is it illegal for untrained gas fitters to work on any gas related work but more importantly the consumers can be placed in harms way with gas appliances left in a state that could put both your life and your home in danger.

What is the Gas Safe Register?

This is the official organisation for gas safety in Britain. Consumers can easily check on the Gas Safety Register’s website to see if their plumber or boiler repairman is listed on the register or not. All Gas engineers registered will carry an ID card with a unique ID number including a photograph of the engineer. This can then be easily verified on the Gas Safety Register website.

Heating and Gas Engineers that obtain the registration are vetted to make sure that they are suitably qualified to work with gas. CORGI was replaced by the Gas Safety Regiter in the UK on 1st April 2009.
